How to Nest in Creatures of Sonaria

Nesting is how Creatures of Sonaria shares a species and how most serious trait hunts begin. A female adult places a nest. Eggs charge while she stays close. Other players request the hatch and spawn as a baby copy of the mother, with rules that change if they already own the species. Males do not nest; they place territories. Requirements before you press B

• The creature must be female. Change gender in the creature settings on the main menu before you spawn if you picked male by habit.
• The creature must be adult. Teens cannot nest. Use how to grow first.
• You must be standing on valid ground. Flying, falling, or swimming blocks placement unless the species is aquatic (aquatics can nest in water). Semi-aquatics need to be treated as grounded, not as mid-dive.
• Hold V for the action wheel or press B to place. Mobile players use Actions, then Set Nest. The controls tool mirrors both layouts.

A nest has about 100 HP. Place it where you can see incoming players and where food for the mother’s diet is inside sniff range. Redwoods, oasis ponds, and tucked aquatic pockets beat a ridge that every flier uses as a highway.

Eggs, invites, and who the baby becomes

A nest holds multiple eggs (commonly up to three) and incubates them one sequence at a time while you stay near. Progress ticks on a timer; leaving, menning out, or dying deletes the nest and resets eggs. That is the real cost. A painted adult is not only your fighter; she is the building.

When an egg hits 100%, you can invite players in the server or accept requests from the social / nest window. People in the tutorial, or people who disabled nest invites, cannot be accepted. You can invite friends from other servers through that same window and even share a join path.

Babies copy the mother with mutation caveats. If the requester does not own the species, they typically spawn male. If they own it, gender is a coin flip in the current ruleset. Nested babies are the reliable way to roll two traits at age 67 and 100 if they survive. That is why mutation guides talk about a nest account and a hatch account.

Combat locks hatch accepts. If you are in a bite trade, finish or flee before you try to accept a request. KoS players know nest icons show on the map at any distance; they will path to you on purpose.

Helpers, resources, and upgrades

Land nesting picked up resource upgrades: mushrooms in redwoods, crystals in mountains, bones and obsidian at the volcano, moss at pond edges, aloe near oasis or mesa, and so on. Helpers can gather and donate so the nest gains storage or defenses. If you are learning, ignore the full shopping list and keep the mother fed. An upgraded nest that starves because you were fetching cactus spines is still a deleted nest.

Males placing territories are doing a different job: claiming space, not hatching. Do not stand on a territory and wonder why there is no egg prompt.

A nest session that does not get griefed

1. Grow the female on a species you are willing to sit on for thirty minutes. Starter creatures that can eat nearby beat a weekly flier that has to leave the nest to hunt.
2. Hide scent (N) when you are parked. Sniff anyway so you see food and threats.
3. Tell requesters to wait until the egg is ready. Accepting during a fight fails and advertises your position in chat.
4. If the goal is traits, the hatchling should read how to grow and mutations before they burn tokens.
5. If the goal is just letting a friend try the species, pick a quiet server and treat the nest as disposable. Fun is allowed.

Nesting will not replace a codes palette or a Trade Realm buy. It will replace the feeling that the roster is paywalled. One patient adult female is a lobby. Keep her alive, keep the nest out of the volcano, and send the babies to how to survive before they lay down in the open.
